As you may have already read (seen) in several French media outlets, the fourth edition of “Le Meilleur Dev de France (The Best Developer of France coding contest) took place on March 14th, in the “Theatre de Paris. Just like the event’s intallment, this was our fourth time participating and we we had a big presence!
Our presence
Coding contest: For this year’s event, we had a total of 28 engineers from Criteo R&D participating in the coding contest. A whopping increase from 10 engineers last year!
The coding contest started off shaky due to unforeseen technical and logistics challenges at the venue which led to some of the participants losing momentum. But in spite of all the challenges of the event, our engineers braced themselves and worked to the top.
Eight of our engineers made it into the Top 40 finalists (representing 20% of the tally). And even though we didnt take the 1st place this year, we eventually ruled the top 10 of the night ( 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th & 10th positions ). This goes to reaffirm the fact that, coding is a talent and a passion, not just a skill in Criteo R&D.
List of our 8 reps from the top 40 ranking.
- Pierre Grimaud (2)
- Stephane Le Roy (4)
- Remy Pecqueur (5)
- Zixing Liu (7)
- Nathaniel Braun (10)
- Pascal Pons (11)
- Raphael Vandon (25)
- Guillaume Turri (26)
Apart from our participation in the coding contest, we also supported the event by hosting the organisers and part of the public in some venues of our headquarters in Paris for conferences, demo hubs and some private events.
This year’s event was once again, a great experience for our participating teams and we look forward to future events.
Most of all, a huge “félicitations” goes out to our very own Pierre Grimaud, the 1st runner up in this year’s Meilleur Dev de France. Congrats!!
